Dr. Laura Venner

Oncology

Dr. Laura Venner is a veterinary medical oncologist and Diplomate candidate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She earned her DVM at The Ohio State University and completed her medical oncology residency at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine — where she was voted the Class of 2025's Small Animal Resident of the Year.

Before her residency, she completed a clinical trials internship at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University under Dr. Cheryl London — a leader in translational veterinary oncology — and a small animal medicine and surgery internship at MSPCA Angell in Boston.

At Dogwood, Dr. Venner treats medical oncology patients with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted small-molecule inhibitors, and electrochemotherapy, with a focus on quality of life, evidence-based care, and honest, family-centered communication.
