Welcome to the Kong and Dogwood Pawty – Blood Bank Sign Up event! Join us at Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency for a fun-filled day where you can sign up for your dog or cat to become a lifesaving blood donor. Help us make a difference. Don’t miss out on this pawsome opportunity to give back! Grab your furry friend and come on down to the pawty! Make sure to bring a towel!
Dogwood in-house blood bank and your pet can help to save other pet’s life.
Donating blood is quite simple. It only takes about 30 minutes. When needed, a mild sedative can be used for the more anxious pets.
Donors receive free complete blood work yearly, a small gift, and a lot of love.
The best benefit is helping to save another animal’s life!
Requirements for blood donor:
- Between 1 to 8 years old
- Dogs must weigh at least 50 lbs. and cats 10 lbs.
- Good behavior/not aggressive.
- Healthy, with current vaccines and preventatives.
- Have never received a blood transfusion.
- Be willing to donate at least 4 times a year.
