Diabetes is one of the most common endocrine diseases in small animals. The approach to diabetes can be very different for our feline and canine patients. Join us to meet our Internal Medicine Service staff, visit the hospital and participate in this fun educational bantering of dogs vs cats. We will discuss diagnosis, treatment and prognosis for DM in each species.

Dr. Nasr finished her Internal Medicine residency at UGA and recently joined Dogwood veterinary specialty hospital to start our brand-new internal medicine service. She has a strong interest in endocrine disease, as well as managing complicated immune-mediated, infectious, and hepatobiliary cases. Fun fact: Dr. Bugbee was her mentor during her residency!

Dr. Bugbee graduated from Texas A&M and also did his Internal Medicine residency at UGA. He has been a faculty member in small animal Internal Medicine for the past 8 years. He helped start and run the diabetes clinic at UGA and has a research interest in investigating factors that contribute to the development of diabetes mellitus and identifying preventative strategies or reparative therapies for its management.
